Programs:

       Make an apple template approx. 4 to 5 inches high. Type your program on it on white card stock. Go to the dollar store and get the shiny gold wrapping paper. Cut out program covers from the exact apple template. Staple and tie a bow with raffia.

Decorations:

       Silver picture frames. I found all of mine on sale cheap on a discontinued rack! You could borrow some for the evening. I used mine for door prizes. I had topiaries made with Styrofoam balls covered with ivy and apples spray painted gold and silver. Walmart had all of these supplies. These we have also used later for weddings, showers, etc. I bought an apple paper punch at my local craft store and thanks to one of our helpful men we used the scrap gold wrapping paper to make our own apple shaped confetti for the tables.

Favors:

       Take parchment paper and use a publisher program to make place cards with the event name and date and the name of your church. Emboss an apple on it with an apple embosser and gold embossing powder. This is cheap and easy to do.

Sample menu:

       Fruit cup - fruit cocktail with a maraschino cherry in a clear plastic cup ( 3 or 5 oz), rolls, salad, lasagna ( made ahead of time and frozen, makes a great ladies luncheon activity a few weeks before!), and apple pies for dessert.

       Make it special for your ladies. The key to a GREAT banquet is to start early! Get your ideas in mind and then start watching for ideas, deals and bargains. Delegate out as much as possible, i.e. programs, making topiaries, etc. I prefer to do the food in mass portions instead of covered dish, this allows the ladies to not have to cook the day of the program.
