 This page is in response to the MANY emails concerning needing ideas for Valentine Banquets. I finally am putting a page
up for this. If you have any great ideas, feel free to send them to me!
The "Newlywed Game" is played
with the same format as the T.V. version, just with
much more appropriate questions!!! I wrote out a list of sample questions for this game, and posted them here.
A mixer game is also a great thing to do. This is a paper divided into squares much
like a calendar looks. Each square contains different information that you must find a person
that fits the description. For example, one square might say "find a person that is the same
age as you". You must then go around the room and find someone that is your age and get them to
sign their name in the square. Another square might say, find someone that sings in the choir
at your church. Then you look for one of the choir members to sign in the square.
I have not done themes for our Valentine Banquets before, but a lady named Amanda, from Dallas, asked for a
theme. She had already done "The Love Boat".
This is the information I sent to her:
Theme: "We Make Beautiful Music Together". Decorate with instruments,
musical and notes. Door prizes could be CD's and cassettes.
Have one of the games be where a couple of the husbands have to serenade their wife,
and everyone gets to vote on the best one.
(Have him make up the song.)
You could also do one where you buy those cheap kazoos
and give them to some of the ladies. They have to play a song and their
husband has to guess it in the least amount of notes.
Pick songs in the hymn book that have to do with love.
