Your Responsibility as a member of Sunday School:

  1. Study your lesson. So many times we get nothing out of the lesson because we haven't prepared to listen. If Sunday School is to be a learning experience, we must prepare to learn. We ought to take Sunday School as seriously as our other educational opportunities.
  2. Attend regularly. If some people attended school as they attend Sunday School, they would almost certainly fail.
  3. If you know more than the teacher, perhaps you should consider teaching a class yourself. Good students of the Bible are hard to find. It's even harder to get them to accept a teaching position.
  4. Invite people whom you know to attend Sunday School with you. Every business, institution, and activity must have advertising and public relations people. We do a pretty good job of informing the public of our product. When was the last time you visited a prospect , or challenged an absentee?

Who Is He Kidding?

When a person claims he can't stay awake through a 20 minute sermon but he stays home with his 700-column newspaper,
who is he kidding?

When a man says Sunday is his only day of rest but he gets up at 4:30 to go fishing or spends the day on a golf course,
who is he kidding?

When a person says the church pews are too hard but he sits on a bleacher for hours and watches football players push one another back and forth across a mud lot,
who is he kidding?

When a person says he can't afford to tithe but he lives in a comfortable home, drives a new car and eats well,
who is he kidding?

When a man says he doesn't have time for Christ and the church but he spends evenings shopping, bowling, watching television, and going to clubs,
who is he kidding?

He certainly is not kidding GOD!!!

Secrets of Happiness

  1. Keep skid chains on your tongue; always say less than you think.
  2. Make promises sparingly, but keep your promises faithfully, no matter what it costs you.
  3. Never let an opportunity pass to say a kind and encouraging word to someone. Praise good work, no matter who did it.
  4. Show intrest in others. Let everyone you meet feel that you regard him as a person of importance.
  5. Be cheerful. Keep the corners of your mouth turned up. Hide your pains, worries, and disappointments under a pleasant smile.
  6. Keep an open mind on all issues. Discuss but don't argue. It is possible to disagree in a friendly way.
  7. Let your virtues speak for themselves and refuse to talk about another person's vices. Discourage gossip. Make it a rule to say nothing unless it is something positive.
  8. Be careful of other people's feelings.
  9. Pay no attention to cutting or critical remarks about you; live so nobody will believe them.
