Drug problem

I had a drug problem when I was a child and teenager. I was "drug" to church on Sunday morning. I was "drug" to church on Sunday night. I was "drug" to church on Wednesday night. I was "drug" to Sunday School every week, and I was "drug" to Vacation Bible School. I was "drug" to the family altar to read the Bible and pray. I was also "drug" to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents.

Those "drugs" are still in my veins, and they affect my behaviour in everything I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin. If more children had this "drug" problem, America would certainly be a better place.

Math!

The best mathematical equation I have ever seen:

1 cross
+ 3 nails
------------------
4 given
That's the whole gospel message simply stated.

Funny!

Funny how we set our clocks to arise at 4:00am or 5:00am to be at the job by 7:30, yet when Sunday comes we can't get to church for 11:00am to praise the one who gave us the jobs!
Funny how we call God our Father and Jesus our brother, but find it hard to introduce them to our family.
Funny how small our sins seem, but how big their" sins are.
Funny how we demand justice for others, but expect mercy from God.
Funny how much difficulty some have learning the gospel well enough to tell others, but how simple it is to understandand explain the latest gossip about someone else.
Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we pray, but don't have any difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a friend.
Funny how we are so quick to take directions from a total stranger when we are lost, but find it nearly impossible to take God's direction for our lives.
Funny how so many church goers sing "Standing on the Promises" but all they do is sit on the premises.
Funny how people want God to answer their prayers, but refuse to listen to His counsel.
Funny how we sing about heaven, but live only for today.
Funny how people think they are going to Heaven but don't think there is a hell.
Funny how it is okay to blame God for evil and suffering in the world, but it is not necessary to thank Him for what is good and pleasant.
Funny how when something goes wrong, we cry, "Lord, why me?" but when something goes right, we think, "Hey,it must be me!"

Prayer

Prayer is so simple.
It is like quietly opening a door
And slipping into
The very presence of God.
There, in the stillness,
To listen for His voice,
Perhaps in petition
Or only to listen,
It matters not.
Just to be there,
In His presence,
Is prayer.

BUS CHILDREN

Praise the Lord for the bus children!
And give them love and care.
They need to see Jesus within,
But most of all your prayers.

Their homes aren't centered around Christ,
Same for their public schools.
Church is where they find Jesus Christ,
But the rest the world rules.

Their parents know not of our hope,
Or the peace in our hearts,
Some just don't care, others use dope,
Their life God has no part.

So in US they must see Jesus,
For He died for them too.
Worldly homes keep them on the bus,
Their parents need prayer too.

So pray for worldly bus children,
And give them love and care.
They need to see Jesus within,
But most of all your PRAYERS!
